Piano Masterclass With Peter Takács

Project CliKK welcomes Peter Takács, an internationally acclaimed concert pianist and distinguished pedagogue, to our upcoming Project CliKK Piano Masterclass.
Hailed by The New York Times as “a marvelous pianist,” Takács is a renowned Steinway Artist and Professor Emeritus at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. His lifelong dedication to the music of Beethoven has earned him international recognition, highlighted by his celebrated recording of the complete 32 Beethoven piano sonatas.
Born in Bucharest, Romania, Takács began studying music before age four and gave his debut recital at seven. After immigrating to France, he was admitted to the Conservatoire de Paris at fourteen. In the United States, he received full scholarships to Northwestern University and the University of Illinois and completed doctoral studies at the Peabody Conservatory with the legendary pianist Leon Fleisher.
Takács has appeared as a guest soloist with major orchestras worldwide and at renowned festivals across Europe and Asia. A highly respected pedagogue, his students have won top prizes in major competitions and have been accepted to leading institutions such as the Curtis Institute, The Juilliard School, and the Peabody Conservatory. He has presented masterclasses around the world and has frequently served on juries for prestigious international competitions, including the Cleveland and Hilton Head International Piano Competitions, the San Antonio International Keyboard Competition, and the Canadian National Competition.
This masterclass offers young pianists a rare opportunity to work closely with a distinguished artist-teacher known for his penetrating musical insight and communicative, vivid teaching style.
